Who We Are

Animiki See Digital Production produces Aboriginal television and digital media content; including interactive and alternative multiplatform content. We create content through domestic and international co-production treaties and partnerships. Animiki See is a leading provider of Aboriginal content for television, the internet and other alternative content delivery network services.

Vanessa Loewen — Manager of Production

Since 2008, Vanessa has produced over 30 hours of television. She is the current Manager of Production with Animiki See Digital Production. Recent projects include a number of signature programs for national broadcast including the half-hour drama Cashing In for APTN and Global, Aboriginal Day Live! and Digital Nations, a transmedia production for the 2010 Olympic Games which included the production of 75 short films.

Prior to joining Animiki See, Vanessa worked in many capacities in the Canadian film and television industry on such series as History Television’s Klondike: The Quest for Gold and Quest for the Sea, and the Showcase original series Kink. A passion for storytelling led her to direct two documentaries; Not Just Beads and Moccasins, which looked at contemporary Aboriginal art, and When Mom's in Jail, which examined the effects of incarceration on the mother/child bond.

Desiree Single — Manager of Production

Desiree joined Animiki See Digital Production Inc. in October 2010 as a Manager of Production. Since starting at Animiki See, she has produced a two-hour music special: Breaking New Beats; Aboriginal Day Live 2011 and 2012, live three-hour concerts; The Solstice Concerts IV, a 6x30 music series and Fit First II and III, 6x30 documentary series’. She is currently co-developing the docu-drama series, 1491 and documentary series, The Department.

Prior to working at Animiki See, she worked at Aboriginal Peoples Television Network as the Manager of Programming, Central Region, commissioning programming for the network.

Working in the film and television industry since 2002, Desiree has held positions at Frantic Films, MidCanada Production and Eagle Vision working on drama, documentary series’, documentary one-offs and music and variety specials.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba.
